Yogi Bear

Another childhood hero was revamped in three dimensions for a new generation of children. Always affable and cheerful, Yogi Bear has been an inspiration to his three screenwriters to build anything but a sloppy script and insipid. Remains the beast, friendly as hell.

Jellystone Park is in danger: the evil Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) threatens to close it. This forces Yogi Bear (voice of Dan Aykroyd) and his friend Boo-Boo (voice of Justin Timberlake) to partner with Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh) and journalist Rachel (Anna Faris) to find a solution for save this national heritage.

Last year the miserable “Chipmunk” and this year also uninspiring “Yogi Bear”? Christmas productions for the whole family follow strangely. As if the basic idea of plundering the past had the final word. Not content with having bungled “Garfield” and “Scooby Doo”, here they dare touch a new classic Hanna-Barbara, combining CGI and real actors.

Everything would have been worse, especially compared to the horrible trailer that is projected on screens in recent months. The characters are generally fun, the prize going to those two bears worse manners. Yogi thinks only of his stomach and he knows how to get into trouble, because while his Boo-Boo will always find a way to help him. Joining them are humans pales, strolling proving stereotypes, at least, do not take themselves seriously. Plenty to smile for a while.

Yet it is no coincidence that the original episodes only lasted not even 10 minutes. It was unwise to stretch the sauce because it may stick, which happens quite quickly. See bears converse with humans is always a bit ridiculous, except that the viewer is ready to accept anything if it is to amuse the children. This is rarely the case here. Not only the writers have concocted a story to the bleak “Furry Vengeance”, but she is so poor jokes that it does not take long before answering. The three-dimensional elements are there to attract attention – what originality, get an apple from the head! – Instead of integrating into the action and adventures, facing a sharp decline in “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, the previous realization of Eric Brevig.

What emerges is not another personality test that dusts off a bit no matter how an icon of the past. Young souls of two or three years will be attracted to these clumps of hair that gesticulate by Ski-Doo. Others prefer to keep intact their memories of these teddy bears that were cute and fun, but the physical humor prominently was accompanied by a multitude of delicious wordplay, which is no longer the case for this variation on the same theme. When did the renaissance that would Droopy voice of Jim Carrey or Steve Carrell?
