Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Film turns complex, verbose and brilliant about the wonderful world of spies; “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” is fun at all times for cinema lovers and concentrates like scratching their heads.
A mole has infiltrated the intelligence service outside the United Kingdom to provide information to the Soviets. That the retired officer Smiley (Gary Oldman) to find him. The list of potential suspects is long and the entire staff seems immune from suspicion. Yet someone has to lie…
Dive into the universe of the novelist John the square is not always a sinecure. His books are large and detailed, with dozens of characters and many of the underlying themes. There were some simple stories like “The Constant Gardener” but most “The Russia House”, “The Tailor of Panama” satisfy this requirement.
“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” is no exception to this rule. Already there was the TV series of the BBC a few episodes that were projected in 1979. Again, keep the wheels were not evident as the scent of suspicion was high. Aware of the holding of the raw material, the writers Bridget O’Connor and Peter Straughan cut the fat without altering the subject so far. A job that is no mean feat.
This will certainly not be enough for many viewers who will follow the main survey is difficult, let alone all these roads. The tone deliberately slow and wordy has been preserved and respected, giving a total of only a few scenes faster. The rest consists of exchanges and dialogues often funny, spicy and revealing the practices in place, but the suspense a bit slows to materialize.
We must take as a huge puzzle that does not hesitate to play with the temporality of the facts, and a chess game where each character manipulates his opponent, advancing slowly but surely towards a conclusion that spare the morality of anyone. In this regard, the realization of Tomas Alfredson (shown with its magnificent “Let The Right One In”) is exemplary. Reconstitution of time is amazing, as is its use of sound and mirrors, and its fabulous art direction. His portrayal is both simple and sophisticated, just like his way of directing his actors. All actors are impeccable. Although Gary Oldman does not hold a candle to Alec Guinness in the previous series, he imposes his natural phlegm. It is strongly supported by interpreters dedicated to the cause (Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, John Hurt, Toby Jones). The only downside is the side of Colin Firth. No it is not good, but the presence of this feature too much shade removes known and dramatic layers to an important person.
exciting film
“Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy” is hardly the most exciting film of the year. There are a dozen men in suits who talk and compete with words for over two hours. Ironically, the tension had its effect, and it is holding in suspense until the end. Easily one of the best adaptations of a book by John Le Carre, just behind “The Spy Who Came in From the Cold” by Martin Ritt and “The Deadly Affair” by Sidney Lumet.
