Survival Of The Dead
With “Night Of The Living Dead” George A. Romero has written in 1968 as a student cinema history. Now comes under the winking title “Survival Of The Dead” is the sixth part of the cult series to the movies – and the old master is better than ever.
Six days after the dead back to life, are entrenched in a troop of survivors on a picturesque island off Pennsylvania. Two rival patriarchs is split on procedures, like the Zombiebrut. Patrick O’Flynn (Kenneth Welsh) is trying in the best headshot method, while his rival, the religious fanatics Shamus Muldoon (Richard Fitzpatrick), the living dead, chained and tried to teach them, from animal feed instead of human flesh. The undead that is of course not care.
On the other hand, there are Sarge (Alan Van Sprang) and its naval force, which the audience has already met with the previous “Diary Of The Dead”. They meet on O’Flynn and align themselves with him.
Here succeed Romero’s first major feat of the film : both Sarge and O’Flynn are once disliked. Throughout history, some open questions are resolved, one can share the excitement finally dispelled. “The Crazies”, the remake of his eponymous film of 1973 comes back in April in the cinema. Romero acts as a producer and has written the screenplay.
