Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World
“Spy Kids” celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new movie in 4D! Older children may find that the episodes and are very similar, except that the formula still works the same. Nostalgia 101.
A former secret agent (Jessica Alba) who has just become a mother has trouble with children (Blanchard Rowan, Mason Cook) of her new spouse. When time begins to readjust, the world needs new spies aspiring to come to her rescue.
Robert Rodriguez is a funny filmmaker. It connects the extremely violent stories and those for the whole family at an incredible pace. A change of register which is not meant total or drastic: there is always the inventiveness to go, as a minimum quality and technical expertise.
“Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World” takes what made the charm of the license: lots of action and laughs, dramatic confrontations, an extremely rapid rate, sympathetic characters and moral tone. The sensation is like that of eating chewing gum. Hardly changes the taste and nutritional value are not huge, except that sometimes there is nothing better. Especially since the director prepares the table for a new trilogy, involving new actors, while mixing them with the most experienced.
A combination that works between determined Rowan Blanchard and most dedicated Mason Cook, the insolent Daryl Sabara and the bubbly Alexa Vega. Without relying on the Jessica Alba tongue-in-cheek wildly fun and crazy guest appearance by Danny Trejo and Antonio Banderas. The palm returns nevertheless to this irresistible dog that watches on its close ones.
As funny as a “Shorts”, Robert Rodriguez likes to integrate different types of humor, between word games, physical gags and other much more dubious. It is intended first and foremost to the young not to mention the older, increasing the number of links to previous parts to create a kind of false mythology, very kitschy, nostalgic and assumed. Damage that he did only touched the rich potential of its subject. The return time is often an excuse for entertainment, and should rather expect a change in the world of “Jumanji” as a kind of “Chrono Trigger” transposed to the movies.
This feature will not only talk about him for his qualities – or defects – film. Not only it is in 3D (like the previous poster who took on the screens in 2003), but it is also in four dimensions! This time its smell is tickled with boxes to scratch when the corresponding number on the screen. The technology – which is not new, this process was already in the 1950s – is not fully developed and the effects will serve little to the progress of history.
“Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World” is in any case, a revolution. This is only a momentary pleasure that knows how to put cheerful young customers without boring their parents. That’s a lot compared to the “Smurfs” and other “Zookeeper”.
