Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Surprise hit of 2009, the character of Sherlock Holmes is back in a sequel that looks exactly like the original water. If freshness is no longer an appointment, the duo of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law is still working at full capacity.
The terrifying Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) makes it his own and the detective Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) as well as Dr. Watson (Jude Law) to find him. Following the trail of a young gypsy (Noomi Rapace), the old couple is transported to France and Switzerland on the trail of a diabolical brain may have found a way to create a diplomatic incident.
Two years ago, “Sherlock Holmes” was the best action movie of the Christmas season. It was a funny feature film, exciting and effective, with action galore, beautiful characters and a scene very carefully. Great entertainment and that was a very enjoyable time.
Filmmaker Guy Ritchie is back in action with a new project that seems to have been designed at the same time. The sumptuous art direction is identical, while the luscious soundtrack Hans Zimmer and Mark Holt keeps this little comic western side of the acid. Fans of the previous version will not be disoriented at all, and even though they probably expected a little more than novelty. The action scenes and are very similar, being somewhat sealed by back in time a little too abundant and countless clashes decortications future (always in slow motion) that eventually bully up.
This time we must say goodbye to the inventiveness and freshness of the beginning. Leaving the first “Sherlock Holmes”, it had the taste to see him immediately. Now, it is quite possible to wait for the DVD. The story is not nearly as captivating and his son many whites are much more apparent. The plot is simplistic, but mounted so complex, with a multitude of characters not exploited and superficial historical connections. The focus on the spectacular to the intimate is not a problem in itself, except that the sense of repetition, however quickly before this copy which singularly lack of originality.
However, the viewer can count on the incredible chemistry of the duo to save the day. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are one of the best “couples” movies of recent years and it is impossible not to laugh at their jokes, their good humor. Yes, several of the first effort jokes are back, but all in all, their harmony is strong enough to bring about a barrage of gags that will make anyone laugh a little.
Their contribution is as “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” may be more akin to a comedy which includes many scenes muscular, while the previous volume was an action movie with great humor. The difference is great. Now, if the two men do not appear on the screen, all flattened considerably, which was not the case that there are only two years.
