Who does not remember the Puss in Boots (which has the voice of Antonio Banderas), the red cat eyes that helped so endearing Shrek and his donkey gray? There he plunged into new solo adventures as he seeks to clear his name. In his quest, he will meet many amazing people, including a cat who dresses like Batman (Salma Hayek) and even the legendary Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis).

Generally be wary of the derivatives of successful series. By trying to stretch the sauce, it is easy to miss the target (“Wolverine”), or end up with a turnip (“Catwoman”). “Puss in Boots” Chris Miller (“Shrek the Third”) avoids these pitfalls by creating a new mythology to his hero, returning to his childhood, his family, his unhealthy friendships, its so special destiny and his desire to become a better animal. Concerns rise at the surface to keep afloat for a little less than 90 minutes a history that tends to get bogged down.

To avoid drinking the cup, the formula has been proven. And here it is well reproduced. Animals must be compelling to captivate the young and winks for parents. A mixture of action and laughter is never unpleasant, enjoying a very nice animation and nice effects in three dimensions. Containing a nice looking, very bubbly, which fully exploits the Spanish context of the subject, with the passage of amazing dance numbers and the traditional scene of the bull.

The image of its main inspiration (“Shrek”), the effort is looking back to childhood tales, “Jack and the Beanstalk” at the “Gulliver’s Travels”, with a few more adult allusions to “Desperado” and the western in general. A horde of details which are used in the story and characters, most being very charming even if none does not really out of the box.

Aware that it is not complex and two in the firm belief that young souls will be most affected by the dramatic action that emotion (the result could very well have come closer to a “Castle in the Sky”, while here it follows the same path as an “Ice Age”), “Puss in Boots” completely support themselves by addressing first and foremost people who like to take breaks to watch videos of kitties.
