Killer Elite

Known actors like Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro to burst the hangover in “Killer Elite”, a longish action film that could have been much more interesting if he had more married reality.

To save his mentor (Robert De Niro), a mercenary (Jason Statham) is murdered three dangerous men. It is disliked by a special agent (Clive Owen) who is trying to eliminate it.

At first this story was inspired by a book that would Ranulph Fiennes based on his own life story. We feel that many things happen in the periphery. The wandering and the revenge of a man who can not go to his country, the involvement of the United Kingdom in shenanigans, the eternal quest for oil and the abandonment of former soldiers who are left to themselves. All taking place in the 1980s, a decade of war and economic crisis.

None of this actually appears on the screen. The writer and director Gary McKendry has sacrificed the many important topics in favor of the action. The explosive scenes are ubiquitous, and drunk throughout the two hours of play. No robust sequence is really worthy of interest (despite the fact that the staging is competent) and the filmmaker has felt the need to coat this unlikely mix between “The Specialist” and “James Bond” by a love affair indigestible beating down the pace.

Prioritize moods Jason Statham was also a mistake. Although the actor is in better shape than the boring remake “The Mechanic”, it will always be condemned to the Bruce Willis of the poor. The interpreter can not bring to the character of emotion, which makes the attachment of the viewer completely inoperative. Why not prioritized Clive Owen with a lot more charisma? Between these two men is a Robert De Niro makes every effort to extricate himself from his usual antics, arriving there against all odds.

Very average effort that will still satisfy the lovers, “Killer Elite” is content to little to impress. There are one or two moments of real tension, but they are quickly bypassed by a series of repetitions that unnecessarily delays the plot. Instead of a thriller in the “Syriana”, movie lovers are left with a false B set which is taken terribly seriously. The difference is huge.
