When jobs are meant increasingly precarious means of survival is not to be left alone face of adversity. This has been decided to make the bubbly Lisa (Reese Witherspoon) and authentic George (Paul Rudd). One must, however, decide whether it wants to keep the surface in the vicinity Matty (Owen Wilson), while the second will one day stand up to his father (Jack Nicholson).

Filmmaker James L. Brooks is capable of the best and the worst. After making his full of Oscars in the company’s very playful “Terms of Endearment” in 1983, he surprised with his equally famous “Broadcast News”, before talking about him a few years later with the popular “As Good As It Gets”. But when the form is not to go, it gives warm stories like “I’ll Do Anything” and more recently “Spanglish”. His new film “How Do You Know” is somewhere between these two extremes.

On paper the premise does not break anything. The story shines with more predictability than its original, purely functional implementation does not impress, while its two hours not intended to be no length. Enough to discourage customers from premium allergic to romance.

But it would be sad not to give a chance to come again. While humor is sometimes easy and immediate, many gags are meant more dreams. The replicas do not fail to be required, while the smiles coming from all directions before all these situations – sometimes a little exuberant – that await the heroes. The great strength of the book is to present engaging characters and developed, which are undergoing an existential crisis. A realistic anchor tends to pour a little in the usual costume, and away the best works of the director.

Perfect ordinary man who is constantly in trouble, Paul Rudd has the rare gift of embellishing what could be so superficial and waited. With his charm and manners that seem to come straight from the 1940s, it happens all the time out to publish its partners of play. This is to develop a chemistry with Reese Witherspoon cute that generally avoids overdoing it. She even manages to turn sufficiently Owen Wilson plays a role tailor-made with a nice bonus. Extending its collaboration with Brooks, Jack Nicholson prefers efficiency to this character with subtlety old inconvenient underutilized.

At a time when the romantic comedy is often vulgar wants, doing anything for a little grandstanding, it’s nice to know that conventional tests are still enjoyable. Especially Christmas traditions that go together and lightness, qualities that are found in “How Do You Know”.
