Conviction

True story filmed with sensitivity, “Conviction” is mostly an opportunity to see great comedians give the reply. Conventional in its treatment, but still relevant and inclusive.

In order to clear her brother Kenny (Sam Rockwell), Betty Anne Waters (Hilary Swank) has decided to become a lawyer. For 18 years she has worked hard and efforts to find evidence, engulfing her own marriage and jeopardizing her relationship with her children.

The film constantly feeds the real, which may explain the incredible number of true facts that are adapted to the screen. Less fascinating as “The Social Network” but much more tolerable than the sticky “Secretariat” stands “Convicton”. Perfect for Oscar season, which begins in a few weeks, Tony Goldwyn’s film wants to be a class object, but not too distinguished, which enjoys a setting that multiplies neat ellipses time without losing his audience. This realization is accompanied by a large pleasant soundtrack on piano who always falls in the right places, titillating of emotion but without playing in excess.

Very traditional in its approach, its way of presenting the events and use the feelings, the film is mainly a visit for the benefit of the actors. Hilary Swank to forget her recent missteps (“Amelia”, “The Reaping”, “PS I Love You”) camping another strong woman. Her devotion is total and the actress that makes it more palpable. Its chemistry is particularly striking with Sam Rockwell, another excellent performer that we see too little. Together they deliver the best moments of the book. They are always surrounded by the fair Melissa Leo, and a host of ghosts (Minnie Driver, Peter Gallagher, Juliette Lewis) who have still not lost his touch.

Sometimes snoring in his way to attack the deficiencies of the judiciary, the scenario where rebounding is positioning itself in the private sphere. Three generations of the same family is proven and heroin, trying to rescue the person who may have allowed him to be what it is, risks losing his own achievements.
